man, this has got to be the hardest tomtom to crack. im trying to install australia map, i do everything but it wont work. i look inside the meta.txt file, and there are 2 a australia keys in there, it says "there is no such map in key file meta.txt error"

this works great with the bell htc touch.

before installing this (following the instructions carefully), i installed the new rom update located here:

this unlocked the gps feature for the phone and now i do not need an external bluetooth gps device to run tomtom.

So I am at the part where I have to patch the file with the whole command prompt business. I have tried doing this several different ways but I keep getting an error. It says can't open keyfile 'Meta.txt"

Any suggestions.

I keep getting a "wrong device id symbols" error message. I pulled my device id out of the bif file per the instructions. I am using windows xp. I did not include the space when typing the device ID.

i have had the same problem on both your uploads,,
when i tried to move the North_America_720.1803 file to my storage card, as it extracts i get a corrupt file on "cline.dat ", tried to break it ,,nothing ,,i had this happen on both your tomtom uploads ,,,so i ran tomtom on my phone it say cant find maps....anyone got any ideas?

You need to add this line in meta.txt

; North_America_720.1803

It works great on my Htc touch Diamond. Thank you for the detailed instructions. At first it did not get gps signal but after loading gps on google maps it now connects fine with google maps closed. Thanks again for this I will continue to seed for as long as possible.

ok everyone listen UP!!! I know its hard to crack it took a lot of time with these instructions! everyone has trouble with command prompt. First if you don't know how to navigate to the tt7 folder here is step 1. extract all files to a specific folder the default is documents folder so lets use that!
2. when u find tt7-stuff folder hold the shift key and right click the folder at the same time. It will say in vista "open command prompt window here" select that and there u r navigated to the folder. Now window command prompt should open.
3. forget what the readme file says about typing tt7_keygen.exe "C:\tt7-stuff" "XXXXXXXXXX"
4 U need to type this: tt7_keygen.exe "C:\Users\JStew\Documents\tt7-stuff" "device id" and then press enter

5. The most important is to know where your .meta file is, in my case its in the documents folder. Just look for the file then look at where is and u type that just like in my step 4! any questions hit me up joestewart3@hotmail.com

if you got Can't open keyfile meta.txt error, put the .meta file from your SD and all the files from tt7_stuff folder in another harddrive like e: and make sure it's not in any folder
than in cmd type: e:
and than type: tt7_keygen.exe e:\ XXXXXXXXXX

that's how i got it to work for me, good luck

Anyone got the 725 map ?

I have the same problem as Ninety9Problems, it seems that the exe is not being recognized

"tt7_keygen.exe "C:\tt7-stuff" "Device ID" is not a recegonized as an internal or external command

thats what im getting, and i have the tt7-stuff folder in my C:\ drive area so i figured it would be easier but its not working and I would love to have this working properly on my HTC advantage

Hi there... I finally got it working. puh
All the time I got a message like "can´t find the ´meta.txt´"... and I wondered - "I have this meta file...
After a while I understood that there had to be a file named "meta.txt" and I got no file called that.

So I figured out that I got a .txt file called "use_for_unlocking.txt" I opened it and chose "save as..." and then I saved it in the same directory as the ´map´.meta I wanted to crack and saved/renamed the "use_for_unlocking" file to "meta.txt".

Then I tried the keygen-stuff again and whoops it worked.....

Hope this is for any help.
I´m a swedish guy and are not too good in explaining in english.

Thanx this worked almost perfectly but i just put in my sd card in an adapter and patched it from there and everything works!!! Great Upload!!

Seems to work, up to the point where it says i ran out of space so...

im probably doing somethign wrong...because i mvoed North_America_720.1803 into the \Storage Card\TomTom\ where i installed tom tom but when i load everything up after selecting voices/time/left-right hand

it says maps are not found? the readme does not say anything about that :3 can anyone help?
